Flemish/dutch type with rootwood scales forming the handle. Scales attached by 3 solid brass rivets with washers on each side. Brass bolster formed of two parts - uncharacteristically thick with a roped edge at the blade. Brass pommel in the form of a horse's hoof with a shoe. A nearly identical knife is part of the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London - M.41-1954. It can be seen here :
