"Kastenbrust" breastplate. German, mid 15th c. inv. num. A.1981.40.a













The arm and neck holes are surrounded by a separate applied strip instead of a roll. The strip is decorated with filed notches. We also see that the strip ends before the end of the backplate, allowing the breastplate to overlap nicely.		Note the cut out at the waist in the sides of the wast lame. We see this a lot just after 1500, but this is much earlier.
